Having more blessings than anyone can deserve, Clancy is 59 years old, a husband and father to 6 married children. Kathleen, my wife and I are blessed with 21 grandchildren who all live in Arizona with their parents.
I’ve been a small business owner for 30 plus years. Having been raised in Mesa I left home the day after graduating from Mesa High School and moved to Southern California where I lived in Costa Mesa and San Diego for 10 years almost to the day. I worked as a Purchasing Agent and then General Manager for an electrical distribution and warehouse company.
Returning to Arizona I purchased an electrical company which was sold in a few years while getting a divorce. Today I have a consulting business which advocates for the development community taking raw land to annexation, zoning and entitlements for the owners. This service includes developing new businesses and opening such organizations under contract for the given owners. We also maintain a financial service company conducting field inspections for finance institutions. This service is done on a per service basis and allows work to be completed on a time available basis.
Community service has always been a key element of my life. Having earned the rank of Eagle Scout in my early teenage years along with playing sports in high school kept me busy as well as working for a local electrical company, earning money all during my younger years. This work ethic allowed travel, fun and with the income, ability to purchase new vehicles.
After moving to California I was a Scout Master in Costa Mesa California and our Troop was successful as over 100 young men earned the rank of Eagle. Many of these families still stay in touch as adults. Upon my return to Arizona I became President of Gilbert Days in Gilbert and then on moving to Phoenix after marrying Kathleen, became involved again in community groups. O served on The Deer Valley Village Planning Committee and was Chair of North Gateway Village Committee for 6 years. At the same time I served on several school district committees for Bond votes and other District issues. Following that service, Maricopa County asked me to serve as a Commissioner on The Maricopa County Planning and Zoning Commission and served as its Chair for several years.
I was the Founder of North Valley Partnership, an 800 member Regional Organization and provided management of The North Valley Festival and provided thousands of dollars in scholarships for high school graduates in need of financial support. I’ve also have been on the YMCA Board of Governors and Board of Directors for 10 years. Also served on the Board of The Valley Citizens League. Currently I’m President of The Phoenix Parks and Conservation Foundation where we are in the process of taking this 28 year old organization to the level it will support Parks and open spaces in greater Maricopa County. In addition I have been on the Board of WESTMARC a West Valley business group, and continue to support planned growth and new employers to Arizona. I also continue as a member of the Arizona Association of Economic Development and serve on its Political Action Committee, Valley Forward and am a graduate of Valley Leadership, Class 22; a member of Arizona Highway User Association as well as a member of North Phoenix Chamber & East Valley Partnership.
In 2002 I was elected to the Arizona Legislature as a State Representative in Legislative District 6 (LD 6) where I served as Vice-Chair of Transportation and co-wrote Proposition 400 that extended the half-cent sales tax to fund highway constriction for an additional 20 years. I’ve been an elected Precinct Committeeman in LD 6, Westcott Precinct.
I belong to The American Legion, Moose Club and am members of The Phoenix Zoo, Pubelo Grande, The Heard Museum and the Desert Botanical gardens. Also a member of Arizona-American Italian Club and Board Member of The Grand Order of Pachyderm Club.
I’m a member A.B.A.T.E of Arizona & MMA of Arizona, both motorcycle right groups, Member of Maricopa County Farm Bureau; a lifetime member of The National Rifle Association and have been an Honorary Commander at Luke Air Force Base for eight years.
In January of 2006 we started a Radio Show on KFNX for two hours on Saturday. Inside Politics with Clancy Jayne became the top weekend show and went to a one-hour Noon to 1:00PM 5 days a week that I closed out on December 29th because it was taking so much time from our base business. I may bring back Inside Politics as an early morning radio show the end of 2007.
While being a small business owner the balance of my free time is spent visiting with our grandkids and attending their sports and school events as any proud Grandparent will do.
Returning to school is an important commitment I’ve made to continue to grow and improve our professional capabilities. Once the time management is established we will take that knowledge back to radio.
