Judge Sauls was elected as Justice of the Peace to the Kyrene Justice Court precinct in 2018 and officially sworn in on January 9, 2019.

Sauls earned a Master of Legal Studies from the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law at ASU, a Bachelor in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse, as well as certifications in Mediation- one from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. 

Judge Sauls is a member of the Arizona Supreme Court's Committee on the Impact of Domestic Violence and the Courts (CIDVC), and has a Board position with both the Guadalupe Teen Court and Hope for Healing (a non-profit providing mental health services to those in need).

She has served the cities of Phoenix and Chandler on committees affecting housing, human services, and domestic violence and has 20 years of experience in housing law, including HUD regulations, Fair Housing requirements, and city code enforcement. She is passionate about educating residents about landlord and tenant law, improving community counseling services, and fair treatment of veterans, victims of abuse, and historically underserved communities. Prior to Phoenix, she did similar work in the city of Arlington, Texas.

She is also an author who makes her family home in Phoenix.
